property
- Rhinecliff - our country house near
the Hudson River two
hours north of Manhattan in a quiet woodsy setting, beautiful pool in a
glass conservatory, great for family reunions - wood-burning fireplace,
five bedrooms. Walk from the Amtrak Station or bring your car. Kayak on
the nearby Hudson River, cycle to the charming
village of Rhinebeck or just relax.

- Casa Amanzimtoti & the Casita
at our Cloudbridge Nature
Reserve - high in the cloud forest of Costa Rica - wake to the song of
colorful birds in this tropical paradise. Hike along trails through
jungles and meadows, photograph the stunning waterfalls, walk to the
nearby village, practice your Spanish, swim in the refreshing waters of
a mountain river,
learn about the ecosystem from the researchers. Off the
grid, but the sun provides light and power for the Internet.

- Venture even further afield - to
Africa! - stay at
Wildcliff, our Nature Reserve in the mountains of the Western Cape,
three hours from Cape Town, or two hours from the George Airport. A
cosy log cabin or renovated farmhouse
will provide you with wonderful accommodation
during
your stay while
you learn from the resident biologist about the life of the local
baboon troop. Watch the Cape Sunbird dining on protea seeds, or witness
the return of the blue
cranes to the restored dams on the reserve. With 2300 acres to explore,
you could spend weeks in this remote location.

- African Haven, on the coast of the
Western Cape, near
Mossel Bay, is a charming thatched roof two-bedroom house in an
environmental preserve. Solar panels and gas appliances keep the
property environmentally sound. The sound of the sea will lull you to
sleep,
and the view of the waves from the house will entice you to walk down
to the 8 mile long golden beach. Zebras and buck roam in the 1000 acre
preserve and a bird hide will allow you to observe the fish eagles up
close. Nearby is one of the best diving areas in Africa.
